VIDES commits to carrying out its activities in respect of the current laws with funds granted from public and private institutions and through adequate fundraising methods.
The VIDES proposition, forever open to welcoming anyone who wishes to test themselves on the field and who accepts to commit to a path of training, reaches particularly young people, without excluding adults, in conviction that, at least once in their lives, it is fundamental to have an experience of solidarity and of gratitude, independently from the duration of the service, to experience the joy of being part of something and of sharing a common objective.
VIDES beileves in Don Bosco’s and Mother Mazzarello’s intuition that it’s possible to educate young people and to be protagonists of ones own achievements, acknowledging a particular valour to education, promotion and training, in order to ensure them a development adequate to their time and technological progress in society.
It believes in woman as the pivot of change towards an increasingly fair world, open to meet and to exchange, in which all have something to give and to receive, without it being that the progress of one poses an obstacle to the development of the others.
It operates for a world in which every individual conduces a dignified life, based on equal distribution of material and intellectual resources, and is able to determine his or her own present and future through equal opportunities.
It is intended, in particular, to develop the educative, cultural, social, political dimensions within a unitary project of man and society inspired explicitly by Don Bosco’s Prevention System and other contributions of Salesian educative experience.
