The project carried out in the Wau area involves the health sector and aims to provide concrete answers to some of the most urgent problems related to the health conditions of the Wau population in South Sudan. In particular, through this project, we intend to respond to the following issues:

- Difficulties of access to social and health facilities

- High maternal mortality rate - Lack of programs and services to support mothers

- Lack of prevention programs and vaccinations

- High rate of infectious diseases related to poor hygiene, lack of pre-natal programs

- Poor care taken by the local community of problems related to prevention and hygiene

Expected results for the period 2018/2019:

- Technical and operational improvement of the “Ireneo Wien Dut Health Center”, run by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in the city of Wau

- Improvement of social and health services provided by the Health Center

- To reduce maternal and child mortality rate in the county of Wau

- To reduce, especially among minors, the spread of diseases related to lack of hygiene, such as: cholera, typhoid, diarrhea etc.

Direct beneficiaries:

- 12,448 children aged 0-3

- 8,584 children aged 4-7

- 6,000 minors aged 8-17

- 4,238 pregnant women

- 17,442 women

- 13,989 men

Indirect beneficiaries:

The entire area of Wau and its local authorities will find a reference point in the operating center, in particular for the protection of maternal and child health
